When choosing an electrical contractor for your project there are many options available but who is the right choice for you and what sort of things should you look for in an electrical contractor?
Let’s start with the NICEIC, this acronym stands for National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation. The NICEIC ensures companies or individuals registered under the scheme conform to strict standards and regulations, this is to keep everyone safe.
To ensure you are making the best choice, the electrical contractor should be able to demonstrate and hold the following:
Hiring an NICEIC Approved Contractor ensures all of the above are met.
Kinetic Projects is annually assessed by the NICEIC to ensure that all our work complies with the standards set out in the 18th edition of the wiring regulations. Even better still, all NICEIC Approved Contractors’ installations are covered by the Platinum Promise.
What is the Platinum Promise? The Platinum Promise is a guarantee that if an NICEIC registered contractor carries out work that falls within their scope of certification but turns out to be non-compliant – and they then stop trading – the NICEIC will step in and at no extra cost to the customer and will supply another NICEIC Approved Contractor to rectify the non-compliant work.
As an NICEIC Approved Contractor, we can assist with obligations relating to Part P of the building regulations. Part P requires certain electrical works carried out to be notified to your local authority, it is the responsibility of the person instructing the works to notify their local authority. However, if you choose an NICEIC Approved Contractor they can do this on your behalf.
When Kinetic Projects complete an electrical project that is notifiable, we notify the local authority on behalf of the customer free of charge. This will save you both time and money when you are having a project carried out that requires notification to building control.
We make the completion of your project hassle-free.
