Does my property need the Consumer Unit replaced?
- There are holes where someone can access the cabling with their fingers or an object and can get an electric shock.
- You do not have RCD (Residual Current Device) protection for socket outlets and live in a property with a garden.
- Your fusebox is constructed of cast iron and it is easy to gain access to the inside of the fuse box and live parts.
- Fuses and circuit breakers are not operating correctly.
- Your fusebox is showing signs of overheating. Signs of this are:
- Discolour or change shape (plastic types)
- Warm to touch (metal types)
- You may smell a fishy smell coming from the fusebox
- If you are planning to install a new electrical circuit and your existing fusebox does not meet current regulations you will have to upgrade your fusebox.
What happens when Kinetic Projects carry out a fusebox installation?

When we carry out a new fusebox upgrade we also test the whole electrical installation at your property to assess the condition of your electrics overall. The result of the test will be a PASS or FAIL, and if you need to change your Fusebox, Fuseboard, Consumer Unit, or fix another electrical problem we can take care of this for you.
If it is a PASS we will then issue you with an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC).
If it is a FAIL we will provide a quote for additional remedial works to be carried out in order to bring the rest of your installation up to current standards. Once the remedial works have been completed we will then issue you with an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC).
