What To Do When Your Electrics Trip

  1. The first and best option is to call a reputable electrical company with good reviews.
  2. Whilst you are waiting for an electrical company to arrive, unplug all appliances, turn all light switches to the off position, and turn off all kitchen appliances.
  3. Go to the consumer unit (fuse box) and try to reset the breaker that has tripped. Hopefully, the tripped switch will now stay in the ON position.
  4. Try to locate the appliance or part of the circuit that causes the breaker to trip in the first place. If the breaker trips again repeat steps 2 & 3. If you have established what the issue may be call an electrician, or wait for the electrician you have already called to arrive.
  5. Do not try and fix any electrical issues if you are not trained to do so.
